Our classes are all led by our very own EmpowHER coaches, Coral & Kay, who are fully qualified and experienced with female programming, meaning that every class is specifically planned around strengthening, sculpting and creating your fittest, healthiest body. Our classes are suitable for all levels, from beginners to advanced! Everyone has to start somewhere so you won't ever feel alone if it's your first time! If you're a gym regular, we promise you'll still feel the same empowerment and buzz!! (we do too)

  • New week, new phase 📈

As we move into our next 4 week phase here at EmpowHER we are looking to focus on lifting more weight under greater intensity. This phase is more focused on the progressive overload principles of lifting heavy with great technique to ensure we are optimally loading the muscle fibres we want.

Why do we programme phases? 

Working in periodisation means we can ensure progressive overload, avoid fatigue and plateaus. 4 weeks is enough time to progress and improve before we begin to level off and have to undulate and change the rep scheme. This way, we can work consistently for 12-16 weeks without necessarily needing a deload phase.

Deadlifts are one of the most empowering moves you can add to your workout routine! At EmpowHER, we include deadlifts in our Full Body Strength & Conditioning session every Monday! Here’s why they’re a must for women:

1. Total-Body Strength ⚡️
Deadlifts target your glutes, core, and legs - all key areas for strength and balance.

2. Boosts Confidence💥 
Lifting heavy can be transformative, showing you just how strong you really are! Nothing beats the feeling of nailing a heavy lift. 

3. Functional Fitness ✨
From lifting groceries to everyday tasks, deadlifts are pretty much the one exercise to prepare you for it all! Deadlifting is a great full body movement which is easily transferable into our day to day tasks. 

If the thought of lifting a barbell seems intimidating to you, then don’t worry we’ve got you covered. At EmpowHER, we’ll give you all the tools you need to nail the deadlift (and many other barbell movements!) so that you no longer have to fear the barbell 🏋️‍♀️

  • Don’t be THAT girl….at least when you’re spotting your friend anyway 😂😂

Being a spotter is a serious mission! The main reason we spot on bench press is to keep the lifter safe and helps to prevent injury. What makes a GOOD spotter & why do we spot our partners?

• Confidence - A spotter can boost the lifters confidence just by being there to help support them with their lift. It can help lead them to attempt to lift more weight than they think they can.

• Bar Path - A spotter can help the lifter keep the barbell on track and prevent it from going lopsided.

• Safety - A spotter can help if the lifter fails a lift and help re-rack the barbell.

However, there is such a thing as a BAD Spotter. So please watch out for the below!

• Distraction - A spotter who hovers over the lifters head or places their hands too close to the bar can distract the lifter.

• Helping too much - A spotter who touches the bar while the lifter is struggling can take some of the effort out of the lift, which can prevent the lifter from completing a successful lift!

• Getting Distracted - A spotter who is not paying attention to the lifter can leave them stuck under the bar and lose trust with the lifter.

Be a GOOD Spotter ladies! Help your partner get their well fought for PB!🎉✨
